From total novice to skilled archer
Our ten-week basic training courses are designed to teach beginners everything they need to become a competent archer.
Bows and arrows are provided. Friendly coaches will instruct you in:
safety and etiquette on the archery range
use of a longbow to competent standard
the history of archers from medieval England to the present day - including a chance to try on some armour!
Every training course ends with a bang, as we take you outdoors to shoot a volley of flaming arrows into the night sky - a truly impressive experience that you will remember forever. Our courses are the perfect gift for someone who loves history, the outdoors or simply trying new things!
We're always happy for anyone to come along for a taster session to see if this is the new hobby you are looking for, so drop us a line to arrange a visit and we'll show you around and let you try out a bow.
All courses are run on a Wednesday evening 6-7pm for the Junior (10 years old to 17 years old) and Parent/Guardian courses and 6-8pm for the adult courses. If you miss a week for whatever reason, it will not count against your 10 weeks, so those with busy schedules can learn at their own pace.
Our Medieval expert also runs courses in traditional Fletching over 10 weeks which teach the candidate everything they need to know about arrow making and the cost of the course also includes the component parts and tuition required to construct a set of six arrows for you to keep. The fletching course runs on a Thursday evening from 6-7pm.
If you don't want to commit to a 10 week course why not book a 3 hour Longbow experience?
